The Officer-In-Charge of the Panadura (North) Police, Inspector Prabath Paranawithana had been suspended yesterday after two T-56 assault rifles went missing from the police station last week.
Police said the IP was suspended by the acting IGP under a covering approval of the National Police Commission (NPC)
.
An investigation was launched under the direction of Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province after the two T-56 assault rifles went missing from the police station on July 6.
The IP was suspended following investigations.
