Sri Lanka will not send a ministerial delegation for the High Level Segment of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) starting today, it is learnt.
A Foreign Affairs Ministry official told Daily Mirror that there was no compulsion for the government to send a ministerial delegation to the High Level Segment.
Sri Lanka will be featured during the UNHRC session later. The core group of countries will move a fresh resolution asking for more time to be granted for Sri Lanka to implement what is envisaged in the resolution 30/1 adopted in 2015.
