Motorcycles are prohibited from using the Dehiwala flyover due to the increasing number of accidents, the Police said yesterday. They said the Mt Lavinia Division Road Safety Committee and the Ratmalana Road Development Authority had decided to prohibit the motorcyclists using the Dehiwala flyover from October 10 considering the number of accidents which were on the rise on the flyover.
The Police said that the motorcyclists are still using the flyover despite being not advised to do so.
However, all motorcycles would be banned from travelling on the flyover with effect from today.
