Madush’s accomplice ‘Andarewatte Chamara’ arrested

The Police Special Task Force yesterday arrested an accomplice of notorious drug kingpin Makandure Madush at Madampitiya in Mattakkuliya.   

At the time of his arrest the suspect identified as ‘Andarewatte Chamara’, is said to have had five grammes of heroin and a hand grenade in his possession at the house he was taken in.   
The STF officials said the suspect is believed to be involved in several killings and cases of drug smuggling.   

It was also reported that he is also an accomplice of underworld figure ‘Dematagoda Chaminda’ too.   

They said he would be handed over to the Police Organized Crimes Division for further investigations.
