The ‘Kap’ planting ceremony was carried out at the four Devales in Kandy as a prelude to the historic Esala Perahera, which will begin on August 5 and end on August 15. It is a ritual   associated with the Perahera.

The Perahera will circumbulate the inner precincts of the Devales and the Sri Dalada Maligawa while the other rituals were carried out last morning.
