The father of imprisoned drug dealer Kanjipanai Imran sustained injuries after he was attacked with machetes by three men arrived in a three-wheeler in Maligawatte yesterday.
Western Province Senior DIG Deshabandu Tennakoon said the incident occurred near the Hemamali Balika Vidyalaya in Maligawatte. The injured victim has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
DIG Tennakoon said one suspect was taken into custody along with a machete and the three-wheeler the suspects were travelling in.
