Justice for George Floyd Court order foils scheduled protest by FSP

The Colombo Fort Magistrate yesterday issued an order preventing a protest organised by the Frontline Socialist Party (FSP), condemning the murder of George Floyd, from taking place outside the US embassy.
The magistrate had issued the order considering Section 106 (1) of the Criminal Procedure Code. The order was requested by the Colpetty Police OIC in order to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
