The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) is to meet Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today to discuss the 20th Amendment to the Constitution.
JVP sources said the meeting would take place at Prime Minister’s office in Parliament and its Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake, MPs Vijitha Herath and Sunil Handunnetti would participate in the discussion.
Meanwhile, UNP sources said it’s General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam and Chairman Kabir Hashim will accompany Prime Minister Wickremesinghe.
The JVP which presented the 20th Amendment to the Constitution under which it proposes the abolition of the Executive Presidency had already held discussions with few other parties including the SLPP and TNA.
