Mr. Premadasa in a special statement said it is the duty of the government to look into the welfare of all workers.
“We urge the government not to allow any organisation to end the services of anyone in any establishment. Also we request that some concessionary payment is made to all those who are working in factories” Mr. Premadasa said.
“ It’ is also the government’s duty to look after the aged population and those who are differently abled,” adding that the Rs 5000 payment should be increased to Rs 20, 000.
