The British School in Colombo conducted a “Drive-In graduation ceremony” for the first time in Sri Lanka at the school premises for their graduating class of 2020.
The British School Media Coordinator Savanthi de Silva said the ‘Drive-In graduation ceremony’ was organised on Thursday as an attempt to carry out their duty towards the students while adhering to health guidelines in relation to social distancing and other precautionary measures against the Covid-19 virus.
She said the school held the graduation ceremony for the graduating class with 64 ‘Year 13’ students who were supposed to graduate this year amidst the Covid-19 pandemic as an appreciation of the students’ efforts this year.
The graduation ceremony proceeded according to previously assigned time slots to students maintaining minimal interaction with students.
