Former Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne, who was arrested following the controversial white van press conference on the eve of Presidential Election, was released yesterday on bail by Colombo Chief Magistrate.
When the case was taken up before Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage, he ordered the release of the suspect on two sureties of Rs. 500,000. Former Minister Senaratne was not produced before Courts during the hearing.
The former minister was arrested on May 13 and was remanded till May 27 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate.
