With three more patients discharged after full recovery from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID), the number of confirmed cases of COVID 19 infections stood at 190 yesterday with 7 deaths.
The total number of recovered patients was 49 and those under medical observation was 242.
There were no deaths reported in the 24 hours ending at 12.00 noon yesterday, the Chief Epidemiologist of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID), Dr. Eranga Narangoda told the Daily Mirror.
District wise, there were 44 patients with viral infections in Colombo yesterday, 34 in Puttalam, 26 in Kalutara, 16 in Gampaha, 7 in Kandy and Jaffna, 3 each in Ratnapura and Kurunegala and 2 at Matara, one each in Galle, Kegalle,, Batticaloa and Badulla. Among the 189 under hospital treatment 4 of them are foreigners.
Another 310 were released after the completion of quarantine period yesterday by the Sri Lanka Army, Navy and Air force bringing the total number of people quarantined and released to 3,109.
