Court has directed 80 banks and financial institutions to submit bank details of former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and former IGP Pujith Jayasundera to the CID if they possessed such accounts.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne made the order following a request made by Deputy Solicitor General Dilipa Peiris who appeared in court for the Attorney General.
Accordingly, the magistrate directed to get reports from 31 banks and 44 financial institutions , if there were any accounts under the two suspects’ name.
Court also ordered to get details of telephone calls, SMS and SIM cards under the name of these two suspects.
