The All Island Bakery Owners’ Association (AIBOA) said yesterday they had revised the price of a loaf of bread from midnight yesterday on the basis that the wheat flour producers were once again selling wheat flour at the previous price.
“Due to decrease in the price of wheat flour, we have also reduced the price of a loaf of bread by Rs.2.00,” he said and added that they had requested the government’s intervention and provide some relief to the industry. Meanwhile, the Agricultural Minister P. Harrison said the final price revision of a kilo of wheat flour would be announced at the Cost-of-Living Committee meeting to be held
next Tuesday.
