Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratna yesterday allowed Former Minister Rajitha Senaratne’s Counsel to obtain Rajitha Senaratne’s signature to some documents pertaining to the Appeal Court bail application filed by Mr. Senaratne’s counsel.
The Magistrate granted permission on considering a motion filed in court yesterday by Senior Counsel Gunaratna Wanninayaka who made submissions and told the Magistrate that Mr. Senaratne’s signature is necessary for certain documents that are to be annexures for the appeal papers.
Mr. Senaratne was remanded by the Magistrate on Thursday on the direction of the Colombo High Court over an alleged TV programme conducted during the Presidential Election period by Mr. Senaratne with two other persons over false and fabricated assertions of ‘White Van’ abductions by the Mahinda Rajapaksa regime.
