A recent social survey has revealed that 46 centenarians are living in Ratnapura and Kegalle district. Governor, Sabaragamuwa province Tikiri Kobbekaduwa said 26 of them were in the Ratnapura District and the other 20 in the Kegalle district.
The governor said all senior citizens who had completed 100 years of age were entitled to a relief allowance Rs.5,000 per month and priority attention at hospitals and government institutions. He said any others who had completed 100 years of age would be entitled to these concessions.
