Foreign investment in heavy flow

Foreign investment flows in an unprecedented scale into the country, claimed sources from the Board of Investment in Sri Lanka (BOI).

After the restoration of permanent peace, foreign investors have expressed their desire to invest in Sri Lanka on a high scale, sources said.

They added that the government had attracted a large number of foreign investors to invest in the hotel and tourism trade in the North and East after peace was restored.

According to BOI sources, a number of new hotels are due to come up shortly in these two provinces with a massive foriegn investment.

Meanwhile, local investors too have come forward to invest the tourism trade in those two provinces.

The flow of foreign investment is expected to create the much expected employment opportunities for the Lankan youth begining next year in many sectors.
