Reports of illegal activities in S.Korea

Plans are underway to deport Sri Lankans, who are illegally in South Korea, with the help of the Sri Lanka High Commission in South Korea,.
Chief of the Foreign Employment Bureau, South Korean Employment Division H. M. Sunil told Daily Mirror that although Sri Lanka held the 14th spot for the workers quota to South Korea earlier, it has now improved to third place.
It was reported that Lankan’s who have illegally entered South Korea were involved in illegal activities such as gambling, drug smuggling and printing of counterfeit money.
The Lankan authorities are planning to expedite the apprehension of those who are staying in South Korea illegally with the help of the Sri Lanka High Commission there and added that 8000 jobs were reserved for the Sri Lankan workers.
The South Korean police last week arrested about 20 Sri Lankans, when they raided a gambling spot.
