The Sigiriya Museum has been named the most attractive in South Asia by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama said today.

The museum that features two main artifacts of archeological value – a furnace used to melt iron during the Anuradhapura era and a valuable earring found in Sigiriya – also houses rarities found in Dambulla, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa.

The Sigiriya Museum, that is a collaborative effort between the Japan International Cooperation Agency, the Central Cultural Fund of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of National Heritage and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Tourism, was declared open in the presence of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Yasuo Fukuda, the Former Prime Minister of Japan and the President of the Sri Lanka – Japan Friendship Association.

We had a wonderful Library in Jaffna with original manuscripts written by leading Tamil leaders, which were burned down by terrorists in Sri Lanka. We need to eliminate terrorists in Sri Lanka.

You are the globe-trotter in our country. So you know it well. Please tell me Where you have not gone in South Asia and where do you plan to go before your times ends.

Those who missed the chance to visit Sigiriya should at least now pay a visit and fulfil their desires.

I dodnt understand why ppl find fault with Bogoll. He is a smart man and just using the opportunities available to him. All other ministers and family members of a VIP family do that. Im sick of seeing ppl blaming Bogoll only

There is no more wasps in Sigiriya???? First FM should get the Japanese to chase the wasps similar to how Cubans helping to chase the mosquitos from south.

Mr.Minister, you are usually good at quoting what others say, especially to hit the news you generally do that. Have you been to Sigiriya lately? The toilet facilities are horrible, after charging big amounts in $$, authorities don't provide the basic needs, especially to foreign tourists. So before you quote some foreigners remarks, go to "sigiriya" by yourself, without spending poor tax payers money trotting the world for nothing!
