I think this is bit harsh, nothing wrong with Private Education, we only have state once to blame and bunch of JVP's!

SEEMS STATE ATHLETE HAS JOINED THE GAME AFTER PARTICIPATING IN A PROTEST CAMPAIGN.

    Bhaiyya Friday, 11 October 2013 06:05 AM

Its so funny that all the uni students bark against private colleges, they shout thinking that only they deserve to study and the all students who does not qualify to get into a uni must end up with blue collar jobs, shame on them
There are immense no of students who are able to show off their talents in a global context but dew of these uni students can perform well outside Sri Lanka due their local, punitive mind set.

The pistol is held by one graduated from a State University. So he can't be doing any wrong!

    Shafraz Friday, 11 October 2013 06:24 AM

    Agree!

    Roshan Friday, 11 October 2013 06:54 AM

Absurd comment of a frog in a well.

Peace Lover Friday, 11 October 2013 07:07 AM

90% of the State University Students are selfish. They study with public funds then they get into Govt. sectors and they don't work. A typical Govt. servant attitude - "I'm not handling this subject, We are closed, Come tomorrow, I'm busy, You thought I have only your file to handle" are some of the harsh mishandling. I have experienced this. But go to a private sector and experience the difference... Better close all State Universities!!!!!!

Calistus Jayatilleke Friday, 11 October 2013 08:02 AM

The one horse race : it may be that private education is not bad but why kill the free education system just in order to favour the private universities - where obviously the minister in charge can make a fast buck too.

Rubert Vanderkoon Friday, 11 October 2013 08:03 AM

It is not only the students, but the government acts like their primary duty is to establish private universities to educate a few hundred more students. Their is no policy or plan to modernise our archaic education setup or to establish a proper education system or to look after the vast majority who are left out by both the state and the private universities.

Rubert Vanderkoon Friday, 11 October 2013 08:03 AM

This cartoon looks very much like a photo, particularly the minister´.

    Rohan1 Friday, 11 October 2013 09:59 AM

I strongly protest this! Where are my laptop, mobile phone and the AC room?

    Thilina Friday, 11 October 2013 11:42 AM

i am worry about the gvt. we won't be seen free education in sri lanka. they establish private universities when thaye think instead of upgrading lstate unversities. day by day thay try to priverties higer education.

can any body give answer to belowe q

1 can thay facilitate to study for poor & medium class people's student.
2.can they retain income from pvt uni in sri lanka
3.why gvt can't establish more state uni to facilitate other student also

only rich clss people study in these uni .it is very unfaire.
