if you consider the size of the delegation (Hambantota 160 vs Gold Coast 20), the cartoon would be in reverse. bad luck for SL, but does show that there are probably many other things that would need to be considered to obtain the rights to host such games than just throwing parties and entertaining the delegates. personally, i felt it was not the right time to try and obtain rights for such games, especially for hambantota, not only considering the fact that we need to do much better in the sports competitions (especially without using banned substances).
