These primitive acts only expose the false beliefs in an all powerful entity that foolish people believe lives in the sky. There are no Gods its just in the imagination of humans. The true-believer syndrome merits study by science. What is it that compels a reasonable person, past all reason, to believe the unbelievable. How can an otherwise sane individual become so enamored of a fantasy, a creator God, an imposture, that even after it's exposed in the bright light of day he still clings to it--indeed, clings to it all the harder?
This has amazed me so much.

    perumal Tuesday, 24 April 2012 10:31 AM

Why not the government organize a dissenting coconut striking ceremony in support of those who killed and threatened to kill.

    JOHN Tuesday, 24 April 2012 10:56 AM

My dear Girl, if you suspect any person blocking the investigation its better you and your supporters dash those coconuts on his/her head.

    Michael Tuesday, 24 April 2012 10:42 AM

It is tough to lose a family member, here this daughter is fighting for justice. God is just and each man/woman will face consequences for his/her actions.

    Ajith B Tuesday, 24 April 2012 10:58 AM

Why all this revange. Yes it has happened and its cruel. But let the law take it's course. I am sure it will, breaking coconuts wont make things go faster but creates hatred and dislike.

    faqi Tuesday, 24 April 2012 06:12 PM

Science is the only way we can derive real knowledge about the natural world and our place in it. Religious faith simply confuses and divides. The domain of science can only work with ideas that are testable and falsifiable by experimentation. The idea of a special creator cannot be tested in that domain. Not only is there not the slightest jot of evidence for the existence of anything which we might think of as "God", there is no need for such a myth to explain the universe.
That being said, however, many, if not most, human beings are stubbornly determined to believe in a god, and it is unlikely that they can be persuaded otherwise, even though we non-believers find it baffling that apparently intelligent people can still cling to this superstitious nonsense in the 21st century.

grand chancellor Tuesday, 24 April 2012 07:12 PM

Dashing coconuts is not going to bring back anything. You are educated to stoop to this level.
Please dont do this for Political gains. You need to get the people out of these kind of superstitous beliefs.
