Religious leaders are seen wrapping a cricket ball with pirith-nool, in commemoration of the upcoming cricket world. As a sign of unity, a campaign has been organized to wrap a cricket ball with string by members of the public, before being put on display at the at the Sooriyawewa stadium on February 19th. The campaign will start in Jaffna and end in Colombo, and is being organized by several leading private companies. Pix by Pradeep Pathirana

This is very true. Like music cricket is also a great creator of world unity. However much a few players may involve themselves in some confrontation or other on the field, it is soon forgotten in the dressing room and all are friends again. But the most important factor is the comradeship between players of countries that are in loggerheads with each other.
