Traffic arrangements for Qatar King's visit

Vehicular movement along several roads leading from the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) to Colombo will be restricted today (24) to facilitate the Sri Lankan visit of Qatari King Tamimi bin Hamad Al Thani, Police said.

They said the Katunayake – Colombo expressway, Baseline Road, Orugodawatta, Borella, D.S signal light junction, Horton Place, road in front of Lotus Road, Liberty Roundabout, St. Michael’s Roundabout, Galle Road from Kollupitiya to Galle Face Green and NSA  Roundabout would be closed from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm today.

Police said vehicle traffics along these roads would be restricted from 3.45 pm to 4.45 pm as the King would travel back to the BIA for his departure.
King Tamimi bin Hamad Al Thani is scheduled to hold discussions with President Maithripala Sirisena on upgrading ties between Qatar and Sri Lanka. (Darshana Sanjeewa)
