these families gave up their happiness for our future. its our duty to support them now! Despite other inadequacies this govt has done well to support these families where many fallen heroes kids have got admission to schools like Royal. Gota we salute you!

its someone's stupidity to dress kids in army uniforms resembling child soldiers. take care in future not to repeat this.

It is their sweat, blood and toil that created prevailing peaceful scenario in the Island. They have stopped the tearful sorrow, uncertainty and the fearful thoughts of all mothers (including mine) who were waiting in anguish to see their children and husbands come home after school or work during those war-torn days of 03 long decades.

It is our utmost duty and responsibility to appreciate, applaud and contribute in any manner possible to provide a better day for their families now.

We congratulate Gota for your efforts...well done..!!!!

Sorry, they were paid for the service. We are fed up of the war songs. These songs are no longer on the Charts.

    unchikun Sunday, 04 November 2012 11:03 AM

There is no draft in Sri Lanka. They volunteered and paid the price.. Just. the basic fact.

Yes, I am too fed up of the war songs by the government to hide their malpractice, short comings etc.

But we should never forget the sacrifice of war heros, who ended the 30 year old terrorism.

A person does not need to go after the government puppets to repay for what these fallen heros done; just find a needy child and then pay for his/her education. That is good enough for a person to pay his gratitude.

I wonder how many of Sri Lankans want to do that rather blaming someone, whom they cannot control. Even during the war how many of us were in the war in front of a TV without doing anything while thousands of underprivileged youth sacrificed their life.

    We salute them

    krishna Sunday, 04 November 2012 12:58 PM

Our salute to fallen heros of the Sri Lankan Army, Navy, Airpforce, STF and SDF!

    SL Sunday, 04 November 2012 03:13 PM

Unlike you cowards in diaspore, we don't need children to fight our wars.

    Irfan Sunday, 04 November 2012 03:52 PM

Did real hero (SRATH FONSEKA) attend this program? lol..lol

    chathu Sunday, 04 November 2012 07:54 PM

    Well said.

    Miss Monday, 05 November 2012 05:07 AM

Did he win the war alone? He couldn't have done it without the support of the Navy, Air force, Defense secretary and the president. Stop being so biased everyone contributed!
