Plaque unveiled in memory of Malay war heroes

A memorial plaque was unveiled in honour of Malay soldiers who died and went missing in action during the 30-year ethnic conflict which ended in 2009.

The significant event held on March 30 and was jointly organized by the Sri Lanka Malay Association and the Colombo Malay Cricket Club with Chief Guest Major General Chrishantha de Silva unveiling the memorial plaque at a grand ceremony held at the Padang premises.

The Malay officers of the armed forces and the police along with the next of kin of the deceased and those missing in action were also present. Pictures by Samantha Perera
