As much as I know, Maithree is not a rogue. He should not kept responsible for his son's behavior because son is not a minor.I do not think that he will use his official capacity to get his son free. But as a father he will try to settle the matter. Such move is normal in our society. Also, he is not Dutugemunu!

On the other hand minister's son had never to him . His father used his police power and hit him due to see bathing without his permission.

The father who's the health minister takes his son to a government hospital and gets a government doctor to certify the son wasn't under the influence of liquor and gets him out on police bail on a non-bailable offense. What more abuse of power than this?
