Why? Why are we doing this to "wild" animals... Why do the monks always want an elephant.. Why are we celebrating such idiotic incidences.. Why isn't there anyone to pour some sense into this stupid decisions.... Lord Buddha never said, and it was never a tradition to have elephants tied down, restricted of movement justt to please a head monk's wish... Idiots they all are..

Is this true buddhism to seperate a baby elephant from its mother and further more captivate and parade elephants in Perahara's? Is this the preaching of Lord Buddha?

Imagine yourself in the place of the young elephant. How hard it must be to break the natural bonds with its siblings, mother and its natural habitat. I hope a religion of compassion such as Buddhism will not uphold practices that Buddha never taught.
