This is the worst ever Floods I have experienced since I moved to Brisbane 35 years ago , It is now 13.03 in Brisbane ( 11.01.11 ) it still raining heavily ,subs in lower lying areas along the Brisbane river are being evacuated .

Natural disasters like floods are unavoidable but the necessary infrastructure should be in place to stop floods from happening like opening the sluice gates on time. what normally happens is the sluice agates re open when it reaches spill levels only. what should be done is the gates should be open when its nearing spill level only.
