The 21st century Japanese army, or any army in the whole of Asia will find it impossible to stand up to the ever increasing superiority of the mega Chinese army in case the Chinese decides to go on the offensive. It's better to just give up and save thousands of lives on the defending side if China attacks.

India with a massive army still couldn't withstand the Chinese incursion into India in 1962 which led to the Chinese victory and that was almost 50 years ago.......
