In commemoration of the upcoming 2600th Sambuddha Jayanthi, 100 samanera monks of the Sadaham Sevena in Rajagiriya begged for alms in the Rajagiriya area this morning. Pix by Waruna Wanniarchchi

    Begging for alms is a normal practice for a Buddhist monk. We do not see this now specially in Colombo. It is nothing to brag about and nothing special.
