A litigant Saturday, 31 March 2012 11:31 PM
We are eagerly waiting for the response of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka regarding the conduct of its members of the Chief Magistrate's Court, Colombo who did not allow litigants and the public to enter the Chief Magistrate’s Court premises during their protest recently.
We unreservedly concede the right of the lawyers to appear for their clients before courts, but the simple question is how can the so-called learned professionals deny the paramount right of the litigants and the public to have access to courts established in Sri Lanka, especially in view of the Articles 3 and 4(c) of the Constitution of Sri Lanka? Over to you Mr President.
