this will also corrupt after few years,,,
what do you think abt this ...
C-AA-1234 - for cars
V-AA-1234 - for vans
M-AA-1234 - for M/Cycles
B-AA-1234 - for Buses
L-AA-1234 - For Lorries
D-AA-1234 - For Dual purpose or ect...

What was the need for this expensive change? What was wrong with the old SRI plates?

Why cant they learn from other developed countries numbering system. Take an example of UK, They had a numbering system based on model, which they discontinued in year 2000. Now UK is using an excellent numbering system (Alpha Numeric), which can be used for a longer period for millions of vehicles.
P.S. Please don't use Qatar model, it is rubbish.

spyboy Thursday, 09 August 2012 06:23 AM

Just Another Citizen Thursday, 09 August 2012 04:56 AM

Are the law enforcement agencies aware of this (example traffic police)? If not vehicles with these new numbers will surely be in trouble...

Wow we have to inform vehicle manufacturers to keep a bigger space to put up the number plates. I don't get why they want to have the province code. We are smaller than a state in India.

What a mess we have made regarding registration numbers for motor vehicles. Why could not there have been foresight and this issue sorted out once and for all?
Sarneris Thursday, 09 August 2012 03:52 AM
I dont see the P for Petrol or D for diesel.
I am sure it will be added later on with much fanfare and another increase in cost.
Dam Thursday, 09 August 2012 03:27 AM
