Mahinda Rajapakse also went to Geneva to protest against disappearances at the Thirty-first session of the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances. He was stopped at Katunayaka airport on 11.9.1990 and he filed a fundamental rights case in the Supreme Court. In his affidavit MR said that he carried documents and photographs about deaths and disappearances to be submitted in Geneva. He said that the photos and documents were to be used to protect human rights in Sri Lanka. This case is reported in Vol. 2 of 1992 Sri Lanka Law Reports, page 223. What is good for MR is bad for NF
