A protest was staged yesterday (24) in front of Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau by Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) calling the government to repatriate the Sri Lankan expatriate workers and to secure their jobs. Former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka and other party members were also present. Pix by Pradeep Pathirana

repatriate the Sri Lankan expatriate workers and to secure their jobs. How? Two at the same time

Bring them back and import Corona with them!

Its a comedy getting down our people working in the ME. Their jobs must be secured through negotiations. On the other hand, the airfare is more than double to come here. Very bad. Unfair practice

Excellent! Well done SJB. Please file a fundamental rights violation case against government in the supreme court.

Although it is correct that they have earned Forex to SL but can you just open the flood gates and let Corona to come in to SL by opening the Airport. If this done all will again shout for not controlling the Pandemic. All must realize that this is a sensitive issue, to be tackled not from a political perspective, but on a health and logistical basis.

We Sri Lankan citizens living in oversea highly respects SJB and the people around it for this protest. Gota and people around him grossly violate our human rights and hold our civic rights. Relevant legal actions must be taken against them under a SJB government.

SLFEB they work with govt., repatriated only those supporters of the SLPP, everything is politicized, even with JVP said they will take responsibility, fell on def ears, they are only want to win 2/3rd, do not let it happen, we will see a military rule. C. Ranawaka we support you, make some change.

Actually I am working in Maldives and trying to come to my mother land from March but still we couldn't get the chance to come even by paying myself for the quarantine, PCR test and hotel costs. really I'm disappointing their repatriation program.

Aren't we lucky that these idiots were chased out of power just in time?
Leo Saturday, 25 July 2020 07:47 PM
Wake up idiots, there is a pandemic and whole world is closed. Not only Sri Lanka.

රට විරුවා? Are you kidding me? If that is the case we are much better Rata Wiruwo, as we in the private sector contribute to the economy of the country and pay income tax here in this country. All these 'Rata wiruwo' never went out of the country for the love of this country. This is utter a joke. Patali better help that poor boy Sandeep, who was disabled as you hit him and disabled him. Meekly evading the responsibility. 4 years since the incident, the young Sandeep, who had a whole beautiful life ahead of him, is now at a state of a vegetable-disabled. Check out the social media for his current state. Its heart wrenching. Thugs also had visited his parents had threatened to withdraw the case against this minister. This man, should be behind bars.

@ranjit, I couldn't agree with you more, even if it is one dollar coming into the country it is one dollar coming into the country and it is not begged or borrowed from any financial institute or country anywhere.
