Manufacturers protest against polythene ban

Don't listen to these polluters .Why don't you disperse them using water canons ,tear gas and rubber bullets as usual.

These people need to be innovative and keep changing with the times. Polythene is bad for the environment and we dont need to make sri lanka a polythene dump for future generations.

Just because the government is incapable of doing a recycling program they should not put it on the shoulders of the public. Imagine how many banana trees will have to be sacrificed to replace the lunch sheet. And imagine hassle of carrying a koode to work for the vegetable purchase on the way home.

Alternative for polythene will be use of paper bags. How many trees will have to get cut down to make enough bags? Just because people are not responsible we are going to have more environmental issues as we will have less trees due to this move

First the Public should know how to use the polythene products. CEA does not have proper system to collect garbage serrate the items in the garbage. CEA should check in other countries how do they collect the garbage and dispose them in a proper way. By banning the polythene is this garbage problem will not be solved unless CEA should have proper system in place.

In our country when the government impose the new system does our public follows that.... For Example01. Government has rule in three wheel more than three person cant travel? Is is happening....02. Government impose a system on the Vegetable transport has have in basket? Does it happening.....If the system is correct every body will follow the system...Same way in the polythene too every public should know how to handle shopping bags since they are getting free in the supper market they use it for the garbage disposal. If supper market charges for the shopping bags then they will re use the same and will not go the garbage disposal.If we go abroad we follow their rules and we do not through any items in the road or streets but the same persons comes to Srilanka they will through the items in the street.By banning polythene all these problem will not be resolved?
