Sri Lanka pulled off a stunning against-the-odds run chase with a record last-wicket partnership of 78 to beat South Africa by one wicket in the first Test on Saturday. Kusal Perera almost single-handedly won the game with his 153 not out, but No. 11 batsman Vishwa Fernando played a crucial role as he hung around for 27 balls for his 6 not out to allow Perera to take Sri Lanka home.(AFP)

Congrats guys! This is the most sensational win for Sri Lanka in her Test history. Kudos to Kusal and also to the bowlers for having restricted the Kiwis to below 300 in both innings. Hope this heralds the resurgence of Sri Lankan cricket.

It was a Kusalion springbok dinner and not the kiwi fruit salad. Very nice and beautiful.

Great victory indeed against all odds. Wud like to highlight 03 bad LBW diccisons against Dimuth ( both innings) and Dhanajaya, all three going down the leg side, watching in a small TV, at the first glance you could conclude that cud miss the leg stump. For umpires at close range they shud be more precise in judging, Without giving the benefit of the doubt against the batsman. Once the umpire rules it out the batsmen have no chance even the ball is just brushing the wkt with a thin margin. It was benefit of the doubt between batsman and the umpire though it shud be batsman and the bowler. I think one commentator also hinted on this not sure it was Russel Arnold. Hope the umpires will rectify their errors next time.
