Award winners say 'no' to ministers

Two award winners refused to shake hands or accept awards from Ministers Duminda Dissanayake and Udaya Gammanpila at the 40th National Youth Awards ceremony which was held at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre on Thursday. It was organised by the National Youth Corps and the Ministry of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs. Ministers Udaya Gammanpila, Duminda Dissanayake and Mahinda Amaraweera attended the event as guests.     Good for them and weldone. To start the organisers should not invite them at all. Those people come only to be famous and to have media coverage. Non of these crooks aren't value to the country and they are the ones destroying the youth's future.Very good example of how to refuse corrupt politicians.     Great courage! Please kick politicians out of such events. It negates and denigrates the achievement of the winner. I'd rather receive it from a teacher, parent or a child. Not these two bit patholayas who a bane to society be it from which ever political hue. What a disgrace. Hope all award winners take this up as an very heroic example and do the same so these goons don't turn up to be embarrassed in public.
