The George Keyt Foundation presents ‘Sri Lankan Art 2015’ in association with American Express from Nations Trust Bank (NTB), to celebrate Sri Lankan art and artist, from December 2 to 6, 2015 at the J D A Perera Galleries. ‘Sri Lankan Art 2015’ will feature works by various artists from across the country.
George Keyt is known as an international giant of modern art and arguably Sri Lanka’s most celebrated 20th century artist. His unique visual idiom combines European Modernist innovations with the ancient Sri Lankan fresco techniques. Majority of his inspiration for his work is almost always rooted in local tradition, depicting dancers and gods, often drawn from Hindu and Buddhist mythology. His famous black-and-white line drawings depicting Sri Krishna and his lover have been reprinted millions of times since he made them in 1947.

Zamani Zainudeen, Senior Manager – Cards Marketing for Nations Trust Bank said, “Nations Trust Bank, American Express Cards is proud to sponsor the Exhibition of Sri Lankan Art by joining hands with the George Keyt Foundation for the 5th Consecutive Year. We are thrilled to support ‘Sri Lankan Art 2015’ as it celebrates one of Sri Lanka’s most talented artists George Keyt and gives us an opportunity to help nurture and develop contemporary Sri Lankan art and local artists”.  Nations Trust Bank PLC with its market positioning of being the benchmark of customer convenience, is ably supported by a host of financial products and services offered to a wide range of customers.
