A testimony of perseverance, Masters Advertising has withstood the test of time; rendering unequivocal creative ideas for over half a century. Having entered advertising in a time of undiscovered possibilities masters has successfully harnessed each and every avenue of advertising for 52 years while delivering successful campaigns to meet the needs of every client; creating success for brands and products.

reation brought to life by the late Mr. Cyril E. Masilamani in 1963; and was amongst those agencies who pioneered the industry into its acceptance in the country at present.

A family owned business, the agency has now been passed down to its second generation. Its leadership is now jointly undertaken by Dharshi Thambiah and Mike Masilamani who are Joint Managing Directors of the agency with Pearl Masilamani, acting as its chairperson.

Dharshi Thambiah, having been the agency’s finance director for many years, has taken on the active role of spearheading the company. A few years back, she entered a phase of re-engineering of the company as it approached its 50th anniversary; and now she overlooks the entire operation, ensuring the success of all campaigns. Mike Masilamani has been in the agency for the past 30 years, trained in all aspects of advertising by Chaitra Advertising (now Leo Burnett), he now provides creative insights into the agency’s campaigns.

Since the agency’s inception, its people have been its centre of gravity. Its senior creative minds are the veterans of the industry with many following in their footsteps in taking Masters to the next level. The spinners responsible for its award winning creative concepts include Mike Masilamani, Chaminda Gamage - Director/Creative Director and Gamini Uduporuwa - Director/ Senior Art Director. With well over 20 years of experience in the industry, the creative thought processes they have inculcated within the agency has made Masters Advertising an award winning agency in the country paralleled only with the finest in the industry.

Throughout the years of service Masters Advertising has been recognized for much renowned campaigns amongst which we include a few. These are namely, Dialog-Future Today, CBL - Munchee, Audi, Volkswagen, Chaaya Hotels and Resorts, Elephant House - Bitter Lemon, Hemas-Gold, Janashakthi Insurance- Early Achievers, NDB Bank, Link Naturals - Sudantha, SINGER - Thirst for Life, Athi Vishihstha Deemana, Supiri Avurudhu Aasiri, Carlton Super 7’s Rugby for Sri Lanka Insurance, Tokyo Super Cement and BIC.
