Hayleys share dips with employees’ shares coming in

The share price of Hayleys PLC yesterday took a dive with the shares of the company’s Employee Share Trust distributed among Hayleys employees coming into the market.

The Hayleys share closed at Rs.322.90, down 7.74 percent or Rs.27.10.

Market sources said these shares were distributed among Hayleys employees at a discount to the market price.

As to June 30, 2015 interim financial accounts of Hayleys, Employee Share Trust, as the third largest shareholder of the company, had 5.6 million shares, which amounted to 7.5 percent.

Market sources said more than five million Hayleys shares had been lodged in Central Depository System (CDS) of the Colombo Stock Exchange last Friday.

Hayleys contributed Rs.65 million to the day’s turnover with 200,585 shares being traded in 511 trades.
