Emerald, Sri Lanka’s premier brand of men’s shirts, did away with the discomfort of constricting collars when one is buttoned up with the launch of its Flexi-Collar shirts.
This revolutionary line of shirts comes with a free-floating stretchable collar button that automatically adjusts itself to fit individual neck sizes to offer a perfect snug fit. Endorsed by cricketing legend Mahela Jayawardena, the shirts have created a buzz in fashion circles.
Kisani Dahanayake, Head of Marketing, Emerald International (Pvt.) Ltd. stated, “As a shirt brand that strives to provide the most innovative styling solutions, we are constantly looking for ways in which we can address even the simplest of issues that men encounter with their shirts. We noticed their discomfort with constricting collar buttons especially in ready-to-wear shirts.
“We saw how they are often compelled to compromise on the overall fit and buy a shirt that’s one size bigger so that the collar fits them. We believe that gentlemen shouldn’t have to give up on comfort when dressing up to look their best and seek to do away with this once and for all with the Emerald Flexi-Collar shirt.”
Elaborating on the collar mechanism Kisani added, “Unlike the traditionally constructed collar band, the button is not fixed to a particular position in the Flexi-Collar shirt. It is mounted on an inconspicuous tab which is held on to the shirt with the aid of an elastic band. As one fastens the collar button, the elastic stretches to fit the wearer’s neck offering a comfortable fit especially when one needs to wear a tie.”
The range is now available at Emerald Shirt Stores in Bambalapitiya, Colpetty, Kohuwala and Nawam Mawatha.
Founded in 1956, Sri Lanka’s #1 brand in men’s shirts, Emerald firmly believes that the Sri Lankan male deserves nothing but the best and focuses on quality, reliability, and innovation to create shirts, T- Shirts & other menswear that meet its own exacting standards.
With noted Italian designer Roberto Inglesi spearheading product design, its three ISO 9001 certified production units manufacture a diverse range of products including woven shirts, T-shirts, innerwear, and formal trousers for local and international markets. Emerald represents world renowned fashion labels such as Crocodile and runs its Emerald Shirt store retail outlets while being represented by the largest dealership network in the country. Emerald is endorsed by Sri Lanka’s world renowned cricketing icons Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena.
