Ceylon Tobacco Company (CTC) has been ranked amongst the Top 10 Most Respected Entities in Sri Lanka in the annual LMD rankings for 2015.
This is the second consecutive year the Company has been listed among the top ten entities in the country. The annual ranking is an opinion based survey, commissioned by LMD with the assistance of Nielsen, asking respondents from the state and private sectors who they perceive as being the ‘most respected entities’ in Sri Lanka.

Expressing his thoughts on the recognition received, Felicio Ferraz, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, CTC remarked “We are delighted to be recognized among the topmost respected companies in the country. As a responsible corporate we operate in a way that reflects our group’s business principles of mutual benefit, good corporate conduct and responsible product stewardship. This recognition is a testament to how we conduct our business.”
Revamping its traditional measuring mechanism, the 11th edition, gauges peer perception on corporate reputation using the Olympic Ranking System. Top companies are identified taking into account who respondents perceive as being most respected in the areas of financial performance, quality consciousness, management profile, honesty, corporate culture, dynamism, CSR etc.  Accordingly the country’s top tier organisations are conferred Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. CTC was awarded 14 Gold, 12 Silver and 6 Bronze medals, positing them as the 10th Most Respected Entity in Sri Lanka.

CTC’s market capitalization makes it the second most valuable listed entity in Sri Lanka. The company is also the single largest contributor to government revenue through excise, levies and taxes. Its success is attributed to more than 100 years of operations, meeting international standards and setting benchmarks for local business.

A singular focus on creating and maintaining sustainably beneficial long-term relationships with shareholders, employees, business partners and partner communities remains the backbone of CTC’s business model.  In addition, CTC runs a sustainability programme which has been recognized as one of the most engaging and socially elevating, in the context of poverty alleviation.
