AIA Sri Lanka’s most awarded Wealth Planner, Ajith Fernando has just netted the ‘piece de resistance’ of Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) achievements – the Honour Roll.

He is the first Sri Lankan to receive this pinnacle of prestigious international recognition. It adds to his long list of global and local achievements that has made him a shining star among professional insurance advisors at AIA.

He became the first Sri Lankan MDRT Life Member in 2010.  Since becoming an MDRT member in 2000 he has successively risen, becoming ‘Court of the Table’ in 2002, maintaining the achievement for seven consecutive years. In 2011, he achieved ‘Top of the Table.’  The MDRT Honour Roll is in recognition of his 15 years of membership.

The AIA group was recognized this year as No. 1 in MDRT with the world’s largest number of MDRT members, a total of 3,752 agents. Founded in 1927, MDRT is the Premier Association of Financial Professionals, a global, independent association of more than 42,000 of the world’s leading insurance and financial services professionals from more than 470 companies in 71 countries.

MDRT members demonstrate exceptional professional knowledge, strict ethical conduct and outstanding client service. MDRT membership is recognized internationally as the standard of excellence in the life insurance and financial services business.

Fernando has long been established as one of AIA Sri Lanka’s Best Wealth Planners by winning the award for 10 consecutive years during his career. He was among the top 10 wealth planners in Sri Lanka to be hosted by AIA Group CEO Mark Tucker at the President Club Gala Dinner held in London earlier this year.

“AIA Sri Lanka greatly values Ajith Fernando,” commented Chief Executive Officer Shah Rouf. “His dedication to fostering a high standard of professionalism has made him an exemplary sales professional committed to ensuring his customers achieve their dreams and aspirations through his excellent advice on financial services management. It gives me great pride to congratulate him on this tremendous achievement that brings honour not only to Ajith, personally, but to AIA Sri Lanka and undoubtedly to the entire nation.”
