A step-up share transaction fee structure introduced by the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) will come into effect today, the CSE said last week.
The new regulation will see the secondary market transactions below Rs.100 million being subjected to a fee of 1.12 percent, while a fee of 0.6125 percent is set to be applicable for transactions above Rs.100 million.
The share transactions above Rs.100 million would therefore be applicable to the step-up fee structure.
Within this fee structure, the share transaction levy imposed by the government will remain at 0.3 percent, brokerage fees, CSE fees, Central Depository System fees and Securities and Exchange Commission cess will become discounted for transactions above Rs.100 million.
