Sri Lanka International Trade State Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe met Nelly Rodi, delegate of President of Chamber Commerce and Industry (CCI)-Paris, and officials of CCI during his visit to Paris from 10th to 13th October 2017.
During the meeting at the CCI, Senasinghe highlighted Sri Lanka’s current economic situation and the government policies that taken recently to strengthen the economy. He further added that a new industrial park will establish by end next year which creating over 10,000 jobs in the county and many opportunities are available to enhance the trade, tourism and Foreign Direct Investments in Sri Lanka. Senasinghe stated that Sri Lanka is now eligible for EU GSP + benefits and it will lead to increase in imports in sectors of apparel, fishery products to the French market in the near future.
Nelly, while briefing about the CCI and its functions, offered their fullest support to organize a forum and link the businessmen between the two countries in the future with collaboration of other French trade promotional institutions for mutual beneficial of the two countries.
