The Sri Lanka Human Capital Summit, a public-private initiative between the state National Human Resource Development Council of Sri Lanka (NHRDC) and Association of HR Practitioners (AHRP), will be inaugurated today by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The event is also supported by the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon, International Labour Organisation, Asian Development Bank and World Bank.
The objective of the summit is to develop a national agenda to discuss and find solutions to some of the critical human resource challenges facing Sri Lanka in key sectors like tourism, manufacturing, construction, foreign employment, logistics and services.
The summit will be held on August 11 and 12 at Taj Samudra Hotel Colombo.
The summit will conclude with a leadership panel discussion involving key business leaders.
Skills Development and Vocational Training Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe and Professor Dave Ulrich will deliver keynote addresses on the skills challenges facing
Sri Lanka. The summit is expected to bring together leading thought leaders in HR and industry to provide strategic perspectives and unparalleled insights into how Sri Lanka must and should address its current and future human capital challenges.
