Following the wildly successful first lecture session on the Western Region Megapolis Development Plan, the Ceylon Institute of Builders (CIOB) in association with JLanka Technologies is planned to conduct the second seminar in the series titled “Seminar on How to Solve the Urban Traffic Congestion in the Megapolis Development Plan.”
An initiative formulated with the intention of creating awareness among stakeholders of the industry, the session is scheduled to be held on the 19th of May at Hotel TajSamudra from 05.30 PM onwards.
The Western Region Megapolis Development Plan is the blueprint for future developments of the country and is positioned as a critical component of the future of the construction industry and related industries. In this context, it’s vital that all connected stakeholders are fully aware of the phasic plan for the future and the opportunities and threats that these planned developments may pose to their operations.
The session will be conducted by Lakshman Jayasekera, the Project Director and Team Leader of the Western Province Megapolis Planning Project. He is attached to the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development and served as the former Director General of the National Physical Planning Department and Urban Development Authority. He was also the President of the Institute of Town Planners (ITPSL).
The session will discuss the overarching theme of Transport and Road Infrastructure. A critical point of discussion on the topic of city expansion and infrastructural development.
JLanka Technologies aligns its partnership with the event in line with the Government’s vision to position Colombo and the Western Province as a marvel of urban Asia. The vision is inevitably tied in with sustainable construction and exploration of alternative energy sources.
The Megapolis project will set an unprecedented benchmark in construction and large-scale infrastructural developments, and JLanka Technologies is confident of being the preferred solar and smart energy monitoring solutions provider for the envisioned future.
