Electro Metal Pressings (Pvt) Ltd, the vanguard of Sri Lanka’s electro mechanical engineering industry, won the Gold Award at the recently concluded Export Awards 2017 organized by the National Chamber of Exporters (NCE) of Sri Lanka. The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and other dignitaries, as the NCE marked 25 years of recognizing and rewarding Sri Lankan exporters for their achievements across global markets.

Electro Metal Pressings (EMP) too, celebrates 25 years in operation this year, evolving from manufacturing standalone products at its inception in 1992, to have rapidly progressed into one of the most sought after electro mechanical engineering solutions providers of the Africa – Asia Pacific region today. EMP covers a portfolio of mega scale and industrial projects as well as corporate, commercial and residential solutions, servicing a growing list of affluent clients across Kenya, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Maldives and Australia. Head-quartered in a state-of-the-art manufacturing complex at Templeburg Industrial Estate, Sri Lanka, the company’s regional presence is established with country offices in the Maldives, Bangladesh and Myanmar, supporting a regional operation powered by a 400-member strong team.

“Our export strategy has been quite simple,” stated Chandranandana Diyunuge, Chairman of the company, who together with Managing Director Suresh Thenuwara revolutionized EMP into a regionally competitive enterprise. “While setting customer-focused growth objectives to sustain existing markets, we continue to penetrate into potential regional markets by offering customers uncompromised and benchmarked quality in our products, solutions and services. Our fully integrated value chain enables us to guarantee the fastest turnaround times, empowering customers to keep up with the rapid pace of regional progression.”

EMP’s export capacity building efforts are driven by investment in ultramodern machinery, technology and infrastructure expansion, complemented by focused efforts to enhance production capacity and reduce turnaround time through intensive research, development and innovation across all verticals of the operation, including Low Voltage and Medium Voltage (LV & MV) Panel Boards, Cable Management Systems (CMS) and Turnkey Project Execution.

To nurture a highly conducive work environment for new thinking and innovation, the company heavily invests in the development of employees through local as well as foreign training, ensuring the progress of skilled talent is on par with globally accepted standards. The deployment of a dedicated Market Development Team has strengthened EMP’s brand presence and recognition across the region.

The highest level of compliance across all areas of the business is achieved through the strict adherence to ISO 9001 Quality Management System, stimulating continuous improvement in people, product and process at EMP. This, together with the company’s demonstrated accountability and assurance of conformity to all statutory and regulatory requirements of a dynamic export market has resulted in the demand for total engineering solutions by clients, which saw EMP responding with complete turnkey solution offerings for mega scale projects.

“As a fairly new player in the export market, we are extremely pleased to win the Gold at the NCE Export Awards 2017,” expressed Managing Director Suresh Thenuwara. “Our contribution to Sri Lanka’s export economy has been recognized and rewarded, and we are encouraged to continue our journey in becoming a leading total solutions provider in electro mechanical engineering, and a formidable competitor in the global market.”
