Galaxy Landmarks, part of the EAP group, recently conducted a groundbreaking ceremony to commence the construction of the Galaxy Impala Complex in Rajagiriya.

The ceremony was attended by the company’s directors and senior managers. The chief guest was EAP Group President Dr. Soma Edirisinghe.
Galaxy Landmarks is a fully-owned subsidiary of the EAP group and focuses on the development of cinema and retail/commercial complexes, which serve as one-stop entertainment and shopping destinations.

The Galaxy Impala is the first of a series of cinema multiplexes cum retail/commercial complexes that Galaxy Landmarks is planning to construct.
The Galaxy Impala Complex will serve as an entertainment hub for the whole family and will feature four state-of-the-art cinemas with the latest digital technology, which will be operated by EAP Films & Theatres.

The complex will also cater to the lifestyle requirements of customers by offering multiple storeys of shops with a range of branded items and high-quality local products as well as food courts and several fine dining restaurants.

Commenting on the complex, EAP Group of Companies Chairman/Managing Director Mano Tittawella stated, “We are pleased to commence the construction of the Galaxy Impala Complex, the first of several cinema multiplex and entertainment cum retail/commercial complexes being constructed by Galaxy Landmarks.

We hope that this unique development project will revolutionize the entertainment landscape of the country and will strengthen our position as a dynamic conglomerate in Sri Lanka. The Galaxy Impala Complex is designed to offer a superior entertainment experience for our valued customers and will leverage the diversified strengths of the group and enhance our overall portfolio.

We are extremely encouraged by the government’s announced policies of offering incentives and benefits for constructing cinema multiplexes and this will be one of many that we hope to construct islandwide. The complex will also strengthen the asset base of the group and will enable us to ensure that our stakeholders benefit from sustainable value.”

Also commenting on the groundbreaking ceremony, Galaxy Landmarks Director and Chief Executive Officer Ajith Amarasekera stated, “The Galaxy Impala Complex will be the first of its kind in Sri Lanka and will offer our customers world-class cinemas, entertainment and retail/commercial options. Galaxy Landmarks follows an innovative investment-based business model we have established to fulfil our vision of enhancing and uplifting the lives of all Sri Lankans by offering new and exciting lifestyle and entertainment experiences.”

Galaxy Landmarks is the EAP group’s property development arm. The EAP group is a leading privately-owned corporation in Sri Lanka with interest in gold jewellery manufacturing and retailing through Swarna Mahal Jewellers, TV and radio through EAP Broadcasting Co Ltd, production, distribution and exhibition of films through EAP Films & Theatres, hospitality and restaurants through EAP Leisure and finance through ETI Finance Ltd and Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC.
